2010 Roxy Mumbo Jumbo Women’s Alpine Ski Scores 90 out of 100

2010 Roxy Mumbo Jumbo Women’s Alpine Ski Scores 90 out of 100

By: C Mikkelsen

Likes:  This ski is just like the Rossignol BC110 so the love is the same.  Read On!  This ski rocked my world.  It has the widest width underfoot that I have ever skied (110 ish) and my expectations were that it would be hard to turn, terrible on groomers, and worse in crud.  But to my pleasant surprise these assumptions couldn’t be further from the truth.  The early rise on the tip and tail allow this ski to be easily maneuvered and exceptionally responsive.  I was pleased at the easy transition from crud onto groomers and can only imagine what this beast could do in some powder.  I can’t wait for this ski to hit the market so I can get a pair!

Dislikes:  Being an all mountain skier – I can’t think of a dislike for these huge sticks.

2010 Roxy Mumbo Jumbo 176cm

Dimensions: 140-110-118     Turn Radius: 15

Likes: Given the width and weight of the ski, I was surprised at how well it handled in the crud, hard pack and groomers. The ski was very stable even at high speeds, and the ‘rocker’ technology makes this a ‘hero ski’

Dislikes: The graphic could use some work…..a little too girlie for a Women’s Specific ski

2010 Roxy Broomstix Scores 85 of 100 points

2010 Roxy Broomstix Scores 85 of 100 points

My first impression of Roxy skis was that they were made for beginner to intermediate women skiers and children. So, I was pleastantly surprised at how demanding of a ski and stiff the tail on the Roxy Broomstix. The ski held up with no chatter at high speeds, thus making me feel comfortable and stable while ripping up groomers, crud and hardpack.

2010 Women’s Specific Roxy Swell Scores 83 out of 100 points

2010 Women’s Specific Roxy Swell Scores 83 out of 100 points

Roxy “Swell” was just that, swell. The ski is made for beginner to intermediate skiers that may need a confidence boost while on the slopes. Roxy determined that since many ladies ski in the ‘backseat’ they would design a ski that would make backseat skiing comfortable and easy to turn. Thus, the “Roxy Roller” technology was born. This design feature is like a ‘roll’ in the tail of the ski, and assists the skier to initiate a comfortable turn at most speeds from whatever stance they prefer. This ski, with a fun feminine graphic, will make beginner/intermediate women look like heroes out there!
