The Cloudveil RPK Jacket and Pants are made of Gore Tex ’softshell’ fabric which is lightweight, waterproof and breathable. Designers at Cloudveil did a great job to integrate their signature western yoke and styling features without taking away from the technical features of the garments. The color scheme carries from jacket to pant and is very attractive; my ‘Pearl’ colored jacket is accented with ‘Vetiver’ waterproof zippers, while the pants are ‘Vetiver’.
Extra points were awarded for the ankle to waist waterproof zipper (with cover) which makes it easy to put on/take off/adjust my knee brace. The pants also come equipped with ‘buffet tabs’ which are similar to an elastic belt so the waistband can easily be adjusted.
The Cloudveil RPK line, though designed for in-bounds skiing, is breathable and would be great for out-of-bounds skiing as well. There is no insulation for these pieces, so be sure to wear an extra layer (I wear the Cloudveil Enclosure Jacket) for cold days.
