2009 Women’s Specific Salomon Lady Scores 93 out of 100 Points

2009 Women’s Specific Salomon Lady Scores 93 out of 100 Points

Rated by Julie Sexton

The Salomon Lady scored high in my book because of it’s ease to turn and width for floatation in powder. The tip and tail were soft so initiating a turn at any time was very easy. This ski is very maneuverable and fun to ski! At 85mm under foot, there is plenty of width for floatation in some snow, making it a great all mountain ski. This was the first ‘rockered’ ski I have ever been on, and I would now have to say I am a believer in this trendy ski technology!

2010 Elan Free Spice Women’s Specific Ski Scores 88 out of 100 points

2010 Elan Free Spice Womens Specific Ski Scores 88 out of 100 points

By Julie Sexton

Size Rated: 165cm

What a difference a year makes! The 2009-2010 Elan Free Spice rides much smoother and is more maneuverable than the 2008-2009 model. While crud and bump skiing were ‘Average’ (according to the RateSkiGear.Com rating system) all other factors considered with this ski were rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. This ski rides well in most ski conditions and speeds, and the tail does not seem to be as stiff as the 08-09 model. Graphics for 2009-2010 are beautiful. This is a great high performance Women’s Specific All-Mountain ski!

By: Julie Sexton

Size Rated: 176cm

Dimensions: 142-115-139             Turn Radius: 15.5

Likes: Beautiful graphics. Slight rocker technology designed to be a women’s specific powder ski. The Pandora handled well on the groomers, hard pack and crud conditions we had the day of the demo. This is a very responsive and lightweight ski that was fun and comfortable to navigate

2010 Roxy Mumbo Jumbo Scores 92 out of 100

By: Julie Sexton

2010 Roxy Mumbo Jumbo 176cm

Dimensions: 140-110-118     Turn Radius: 15

Likes: Given the width and weight of the ski, I was surprised at how well it handled in the crud, hard pack and groomers. The ski was very stable even at high speeds, and the ‘rocker’ technology makes this a ‘hero ski’

Dislikes: The graphic could use some work…..a little too girlie for a Women’s Specific ski

2010 Roxy Broomstix Scores 85 of 100 points

2010 Roxy Broomstix Scores 85 of 100 points

By:

My first impression of Roxy skis was that they were made for beginner to intermediate women skiers and children. So, I was pleastantly surprised at how demanding of a ski and stiff the tail on the Roxy Broomstix. The ski held up with no chatter at high speeds, thus making me feel comfortable and stable while ripping up groomers, crud and hardpack.

2010 Women’s Specific Roxy Swell Scores 83 out of 100 points

2010 Women’s Specific Roxy Swell Scores 83 out of 100 points

By: Julie Sexton

Roxy “Swell” was just that, swell. The ski is made for beginner to intermediate skiers that may need a confidence boost while on the slopes. Roxy determined that since many ladies ski in the ‘backseat’ they would design a ski that would make backseat skiing comfortable and easy to turn. Thus, the “Roxy Roller” technology was born. This design feature is like a ‘roll’ in the tail of the ski, and assists the skier to initiate a comfortable turn at most speeds from whatever stance they prefer. This ski, with a fun feminine graphic, will make beginner/intermediate women look like heroes out there!
