This is honestly the closest ski to the 1980’s Volkl Renntiger “R” I’ve been on. And I loved that ski! Add new technology and the Progressor 9+ surpasses that “old” Volkl in performance by a long way.

The Progressor 9+ is a joy to ski, pure and simple. It really does it all well. Amazingly well suited to driving through crud, (as long as there is a good base) and equally nimble on firm snow.

Short quick turns are easy to execute, long radius high speed turns present a stable ride. Carving on groomed runs is easy on my knees, thank you Fischer.

Best of all, this ski feels light on the feet, but firm like a rock. And rock they do!

Dislikes

Be careful on Steeps, Chutes and Couloirs. The narrow waist will “trench” and hang you up. But remember, this is not a ski that is designed for this type of use, so the fact that I rated it “Average” (3) for this catagory still speaks volumes for the Progressor 9+’s versatility..
